Happy Halloween!!!!

It's Halloween today!! Yay!!!! I was going to do a rainbow water marble/tie dye mani to go with my hippie costume, but I procrastinated too much. So, I figured I would try out some glow in the dark polish instead.

I started with 2 coats of OPI Alpine Snow.I then added some decals to my accent nails, and then put a coat of China Glaze Ghoulish Glow. I finished it all off with a coat of Poshe. The glow doesn't show up well on camera, but in real life, it's very bright.

Overall, I really like the glow in the dark look, although it loses its 'charge' fairly quickly :/ I'll have to be sure to recharge them under porch lights when I take my cousins trick or treating :)

NYC Love Letters

I really shouldn't be posting (or doing my nails, for that matter) since I should be working on a unit plan, but I had to get post this. I've gotten really bored of Life Preserver for some reason, so I decided to jazz it up with NYC Love Letters that I picked up today. The result is GORGEOUS. Unfortunately, I spent 15 minutes trying to get a decent picture of it, and failed spectacularly.

This was the best I could do (sorry!). I've seen tons of swatches of Love Letters online, but in real life it's 1000 times more awesome. Over Life Preserver, Love Letters flashes pink and green depending on the angle. So pretty! This was one thin-ish coat over Life Preserver, topped with Seche Vite.

NOTW: China Glaze Life Preserver

This is my first (and only) China Glaze polish. I don't know why it took me so long to finally pick up a China Glaze polish. But now I know what I'm missing. Here's a pic (courtesy of my newly-discovered macro function!!)

This is after a day of wear. I did one quick thick coat over base, and topped it with Seche Vite. I was in a time crunch, so I didn't do the second coat that I would have liked. Life Preserver is a great color. I thought it would be a bit too brown based for spring, but its a great, bright, dusty (is that possible?) orange.

Now I must go plan my next trip to the mall to buy some more China Glaze. :)

Polish Haul!!

I was out having lunch with the bff, and I decided to hit up the salon after to see if they have OPI Black Shatter. They didn't have it. But oh well, I knew it was a long shot. I did end up grabbing a few discontinued OPIs and my first China Glaze!

From L-R: OPI Yodel Me On My Cell, OPI Overexposed in South Beach, and China Glaze Life Preserver.

I've wanted 'Yodel' for a while, and I'm glad I was able to get it on sale. 'Overexposed' caught my eye when I was pawing through the sale bin, and I couldn't not buy it. I really wanted one of the grey/blue colors from the Anchor's Away collection but, apparently, so did everyone else. Only the reds were left. This one was just so different I had to buy it.

I won't be wearing any of these for at least a week. I already have my manicure planned out for next week (hot pink w/ hot pink/bright yellow water marble accent...can you tell I want spring?), but I'll probably wear one of these after. Most likely one of the OPIs
