NOTW: Zoya Valerie

Ireally saved the best of my 3 Free Zoyas for last. This week is Zoya's Valerie, which is completely awesome!

Sorry for the blur, but it was the only way that I was able to get a true picture of the color. This polish is intensely gorgeous. I can't stop looking at my nails!

As far as the manicure is concerned, I did 2 coats of Valerie over my base coat. 1 coat would have been perfectly fine, but I went that extra step. I then finished everything up with one coat of Seche Vite.

NOTW: Zoya Ibiza

Back in January, I took advantage of Zoya's 3 Free facebook promo and got my first Zoyas. I ended up getting Savita, Ibiza, and Valerie. I've already worn Savita, so I decided to give Ibiza a try.

This manicure was pretty basic. 1 coat of Ibiza over base coat. I love that this was completely opaque in 1 medium coat. I then put one coat of NYC top coat, when Seche Vite. I'm a bit disappointed in this one. It looks great under strong light (and with a camera flash), but under regular lighting, it just looks black. Boo :(

NOTW: Valentine's Day

I wanted to do something not too over the top of Valentine's Day. I ended up with a glittery red manicure for the week.

I did 2 coats of Sally Hansen X-Treme Wear Cherry Red over SH Double Duty. I could have gotten away with 1 coat, but I wanted it to be darker. Then I layered one coat of NYC White Lights Glitter over that. I finished it up with 1 coat of NYC Shiny Top Coat and then 1 coat of Seche Vite.

Happy (early) Valentine's Day!!

I Gots A Package!!

My super-mega-foxy-awesome-hot Starkid sunglasses came in the mail today!! I jumped up and down when I opened the mailbox, and almost slipped on all the ice. The perfect thing to make a freezing, grey, winter day better? Hot pink sunglasses, duh!! I've been wanting a pair of these glasses forever, and finally caved after I watched a clip from Glee which showed Darren wearing the glasses. I'm completely in love with them. They remind me of Ray Bans, which is completely awesome. And the Starkid logo on the side is adorable.

One thing I love about ordering from Ann Arbor T Shirt Company (where Starkid sells their merch), is the invoice that comes in the package. The stamp, in case you can't read it, say "Warning: Package is full of Awesome!" How effing cute is that?! That's what greated me when I opened up the box. And I love that they personalize all the forms. Makes you feel special and appreciated. (I'm such a dork..)

Project 10 Pan and Final Review

I used up the last of my Clinique 3-Step System, and so begins my P10P list. Whoo!!

So, this system was okay. I think the soap is good as just a general cleanser, but I don't think it's really great for skin that needs something that's not so gentle. However, I do love the moisturizer. It's the only one I've found that doesn't turn my face into a giant oil slick. Yay!

NOTW: Go Pack!

I needed to salvage what was left of the failed smiley manicure, so I decided to use scotch tape to create a Packers themed manicure. Can't wait until Sunday!!!

Sorry for the blurriness, this one did not want to be photographed. 2 coats of Color Club Almost Famous. Then scotch tape and 3 thin coats of Sally Hansen HD Hi-Def on my ring finger. And one coat of Seche Vite to finish everything off. I was worried that the green was going to bleed since that polish is crazy thin, but it came out looking awesome.

I'm definitely going to be using scotch tape many more times in the future!

Nail Fail

I'm usually pretty tame with my nail polish; two coats of a color and off I go. But, I decided I wanted to try out Rihanna's smiley face manicure, despite not having any tools to actually accomplish this.

It was a FAIL.

It's bad. I used the rounded head of a pin, which was a bad idea. Once I get a proper dotting tool, maybe I'll try this one again.

Clinique 3-Step System - Day 2

I forgot to update last night, but I did use the Clinique system again for the second day. Overall, it was the same experience as the first day. There aren't really any noticeable differences, other than my skin being a bit smoother.

My skin did feel a bit greasy after I put on the moisturizer and let it set, but that was gone when I woke up this morning.

I still don't know how it works when I wear makeup, but that will probably be tested in the next day or so.

Clinique 3-Step System Review - Day 1

I received a sampler of the Clinique 3 Step System a bit ago, and I thought that I'd finally use it, and see how it works with my skin. So, I thought I'd keep track, here, of how it works. I did change one thing. The directions say to use this twice a day, but I have a rule to not wash my face more than once a day, so I'm going to use the system once a day, for four days.

Day 1

I really liked the facial soap. It lathered well, and my face really felt clean after I had used it. This, however, was with me wearing no makeup, so I am not sure if the results would change, or not, had I been wearing foundation.

The toner ('clarifying lotion') was a bit of a shock. I don't usually use toner, just Witch Hazel, so the strong alcohol scent/feel really threw me. I only used about half the given amount in the sample since it was so strong.

I'm a bit wary about using a moisturizer since my skin can get oily, but I bit the bullet and used most of the sample of the moisturizing lotion. At first it felt thick, but after it was absorbed, it was fine and my skin is sooo smooth and soft now. I really hope this doesn't break me out, because I do like the feeling.

Overall I really like the effect so far, I hope it doesn't freak my skin out too much.

First Post - Project 10 Pan

Welcome to the new blog. I've gotten really into beauty lately, so I felt it was time for me to cave and make a beauty blog. I am by no means an expert, but I love all things makeup, nail polish, and everything in between.

********************************
I'm going to start out with my version of Project 10 Pan. I realized the other day that I have never hit pan on anything I've used (other than shampoos). So, I went through my stash and picked some things that I want to hit pan, or finish up. None of these are actual makeup items, as that would be impossible since I only wear makeup when I leave the house (only 4-5 times a week). So, here's a list of items I will (hopefully) finish up soon:

-Clinique All About Eyes (sample size)
-Clinique Rinse Off Foaming Cleanser (sample size)
-Clinique 3-Step System (4 use sampler)
-Avon Overnight Replenishing Foot Cream
-Avon Deep Moisture Foot Cream
-Bath & Body Works Ripe Red Current Lip Balm
-John Freida Frizz-Ease Curl Boosting Mousse (travel size)

That's it for now, but I'll probably add things as time goes on.
